Irvine surroundings - Afternoon tea in the town | There is a large parking lot around, which is very convenient for parking. There is also a museum where you can take a walk after eating. It is a very comfortable life, but it closes very early, at 5 o'clock. I personally think it is more suitable for coming here with girlfriends and female friends. The environment is good

In love with this amazing tea house! Everything was so well decorated in lots of details! Super cute with lots of flowers surrounding you. Lots of photos ops spots to create beautiful memories. I had ordered the Victorian Tea which comes with champagne, sandwiches, soup, salad, dessert, scone, fresh fruits, and your choice of tea. It was all delicious. They give you about two hours to dine in, but we were there a little longer enjoying our time soaking in some sun while sipping champagne. Such a great experience. Absolutely loved every minute of it there. Only small complaint was service can be a little better. Our server didn't really check in on us and then he suddenly disappeared and never came back to serve us. He could have told us they were switching out server, so we didn't have to look out for him. Other than that, still had a wonderful time and would revisit.

What a wonderful experience! The Tea House on Los Rios in San Juan Capistrano was a perfect way to end Spring and start the Summer with my favorite ladies and little lady. I booked a reservation through Open Table at least a week prior. I ended up adding an extra guest the day before and the communication with them was excellent with a prompt response time. Closer to the day, they called to confirm my reservation and gave tips on where to park. Our party of 5 dressed for the occasion with our floral outfits and when we arrived, we immediately loved the vibe. The Tea House on Los Rios is truly a feast for the senses! It's as if we walked into a secret garden. There were so many things to see everywhere you turned. The food was vibrant and colorful, and the taste delighted our tastebuds. We ordered 4 "Victorian High Tea" and 1 "Treehouse Tea for Young Royals" for the little lady. At $55 and $29 per person (June 2024), respectively, it was well worth every penny. The Victorian Tea included: * A Glass of Champagne, Mimosa, or Sparkling Cider. I opted for a Mimosa and it had the cutest edible flower to garnish the drink. * Premium Loose Leaf Tea - I had the Cucumber Melon Tea because I'd never tried that before; it just sounded refreshing. And wow, it was smooth and just had great quality. I ended up purchasing this same flavor at the shop next door. * Freshly Baked Currant Scone - This heart-shaped scone was heavenly. It was a big scone and, paired with the contrasting duo of Raspberry Preserve and Early California Cream, I was in love! * Garden Salad with choice of dressing. I loved the added green olives to the salad. * Soup of Choice. It was either Vegetable or Asparagus Soup and I went with the latter. I had never had anything like it! It was savory, a little thick with a kick. It was soooo good! * Six (6) Tea Sandwiches - Cucumber, Lox on Puff Pastry, Ham & Swiss with Rosemary, Sautéed Mushrooms & Gorgonzola on Puff Pastry, Chicken Curry on Raisin Bread, and Egg Sandwich. Each were delightful on its own. * A Duo of Sweets - We were stuffed at this point but couldn't resist a bite of their chocolate and lemon desserts. These were delicious! The service was amazing and the pace of how food came out was great! Each of us had a lovely time, making that day a new core memory! Thank you to The Tea House on Los Rios for helping create a lasting memory with the lovely ladies in my life! What an exquisite experience!

We came on a Thursday afternoon just looking for a cute place to chill, and wow was I blown away! The inside is decorated so cute, and the tea and scones were fabulous! We just ordered the current scone, tea service, and trifle a la carte and I really wasn't expecting it to be as good as it was. The scone and jam was truly out of this world, and both teas we got are some of the best I've had! The blackberry bramble black tea was fruity, smooth, and paired perfectly with jam. The caramel black tea was sweet and had subtle notes of caramel that blended really well. Truly delicious and I'll definitely be coming back! Service wasn't the most attentive, but we came nearer to closing and everything was brought out quickly so no complaints!

Absolutely adorable spot in an adorable neighborhood for enjoying tea. There are a lot of tables inside the converted home, as well as outside on the veranda and porch. There's smooth jazz playing in the background and the garden surrounding the property is beautiful, so the ambiance is really nice. Highly recommend that you book your table on OpenTable.com in advance, as they seem to host many parties and have a lot of people visiting, even during the weekday. Our server, Adam, was helpful in giving us some suggestions on popular items to order. He also instructed us on how to use the tea strainer, although my friend and I have had numerous afternoon teas and know how it all works, it was nice of him to tell us as I'm sure he's encountered many who haven't and are afraid to ask. In addition to tea sets, you could order an actual meal. Each person can choose a tea, so get different kinds so you can share your pot with others in your party. The scone and tea came out first. I really enjoyed the scone, so good!! It's huge and moist and not crumbly. I got the Queen Catherine tea and enjoyed it. I usually drink my tea straight up with no sugar or cream, but this one is a strong tea, so it tastes good with the cream and sugar. I was honestly disappointed when our food came out, that it was on individual plates rather than a tiered serving stand. Maybe they take up too much space to store, but it kind of deflated the experience for me. The sandwiches itself were ok. They all tasted rather dry and the chicken salad and curry chicken could've used more mayo or whatever sauce they use to mix with the chicken. My favorite was the mushroom on the flaky pastry. I don't know what it was called, but it was tasty. We also got a dessert plate which was good, but was pretty full from drinking so much tea so I ended up taking it home. You can bring your tea experience home and go next door to the gift shop to buy tins of tea that they offer at the tea house. I purchased Peach Apricot previously which is now one of my favorites. But since I still have some, I decided to try the "Private Reserve" this time. This one is really good too! The teas here are expensive, but the quality of tea is top notch - loose leaf, and big leaves... not the ground up, small leaves of inexpensive brands.

This charming little tea house is tucked away in a quaint part of San Juan Capistrano that will make you think you're on the set of Bridgerton. It's literally a house that has been converted into a tea house. The garden outside is beautiful and makes a great backdrop for pictures. The inside is just as pretty from the wallpaper to the tableware. They really paid attention to every detail, even the bathrooms shouldn't be missed. I recommend doing one of their tea experiences for a first timer, but they also have lunch entrees and even a brunch menu on the weekends. I did the Victorian Tea Experience ($55) which to me is the best value and comes with a lot of food. You get one of their amazing scones, choice of tea, soup, salad, tea sandwiches and dessert along with a glass of champagne or mimosa. The tea service starts with a huge, warm currant scone that is so good when you pile on the cream and raspberry preserves. The tea menu is overwhelming with all of the choices but I chose the Sencha Kyoto Cherry Rose which was a nice and light green tea. Next came the soup and salad courses which were tasty but nothing special. The tea sandwiches are cute but hit or miss in terms of taste. The cucumber and cream cheese was probably my favorite. For dessert, the duo of chocolate and coconut cakes were the perfect ending but very sweet. This is a great place to gather girl friends for a special occasion. We had a group of 8 for a baby shower and our server was so nice, always checking in on us and we never felt rushed. There isn't much parking at the tea house but it's a short walk from the Los Rios Park parking lot. Be sure to make a reservation in advance and break out your cutest floral dress for a good time here.

I came to The Tea House on Los Rios for a high tea birthday lunch and it was a great experience. We came on a Thursday at 2pm and sat outside with the lovely decor and flowers. The plants, flowers, and cutlery were enchanting and stood out the most with great detail. Our server had a lot of knowledge on the menu but was a little slow on bringing out the food and tea. The whole experience lasted at least two hours because of it so definitely come prepared to stay a while. I also recommend parking at the nearby park since there is no other parking around from what I could see. We opted for the $42 high tea experience and the Shepherds pie. There were plenty of amazing options to choose from their vast collection of tea leaves and we loved every single one. Our favorite was the Sencha Kyoto Cherry Rose which had a sweet flavor and smelled so floral. The food was beautifully presented and tasted great. The sandwiches were fresh and flavorful, and the scones were perfectly baked and paired with the tea. However, the portion sizes were quite small, especially considering the high price point. The Shepherd's Pie, in particular, was underwhelming with only a few pieces of steak in the dish. Despite the portion sizes, the overall experience at The Tea House on Los Rios was memorable. The ambiance and attention to detail in the decor made it a charming place for tea. While the food was enjoyable, it's the enchanting atmosphere that truly makes this tea house worth visiting. I would recommend The Tea House on Los Rios for anyone looking to enjoy a unique high tea experience. Just be prepared for a longer stay and small portions.
